Summary
Sometimes, Mira feels it is safer to snap at a hand before determining whether it is one that feeds or one that hurts. Hunger pangs were bearable, familiar. She had been starved of love and affection for most of her life anyways.
Zoey isn't able to suppress the whimper that escapes her as Rumi's eyes flit to hers. There are thousands of thoughts racing through her head, most of them filled with hurt, confusion, and betrayal. A smaller, instinctual part of Zoey's mind that she's starting to think she might hate sees the patterns winding across Rumi's skin and whispers: prey.
Something in Rumi has always been feral and wrong. Measured affection and careful training can only do so much to suppress instinct. (You can take the animal out of the wild, but you can't take the wild out of the animal.)
(Aka these characters are so dog-coded in different ways and I wanted to explore that a little.)

Roy Harper makes an off-hand comment about being invited to the Wayne Holiday Gala, and Artemis mentions that her and Wally have also been invited to the Gala. It doesn't take long for Jon, Kon, Kara, Steph and Clark to join in. They can't all possibly be dating a Wayne, right?

Summary
The Watch Tower, one of the bases of the Justice League's themselves, was an orbiting satellite hovering in the outer thermosphere layer of Earth's atmosphere. It was widely accepted that you had to be able to hack zeta tubes to break in (which was one of the hardest things to do on top of the fact that not many people even knew zeta tubes existed). It was one of the main reasons that everyone who visited the Watch Tower felt so safe.
That was, until the first break-in happened on a Tuesday no one is quite ready to forget.
Or: Robin and Batgirl try to break into the Watch Tower, but it goes badly and these are the consequences.

Finally, Zoey blurted it out, voice soft but sharp:
“Have you ever thought of… something besides monogamy?”
Mira’s thumb stilled on the screen. She looked up, slow. “…What?”
Zoey’s hands twisted in her lap. “Like—not open relationships. Just… not just one person. Have you ever thought about being with more than one person and it still being okay?”
She wasn’t looking at Mira. Her voice was tight, like it hurt to speak. Mira watched her with a furrowed brow, still quiet.
“I feel so guilty all the time. Because I love you, Mira. I love you, and this doesn’t change that, but I see her and I want to make her smile and I want her to hold my hand and I think she’s beautiful and weird and sweet and I—”
She finally looked up, tears shining in her eyes.
“I think I ruined us. And I’m so sorry.”
Mira just stared at her. Wide-eyed. Silent.
Zoey’s heart dropped. “Say something.”
Mira exhaled like she’d been holding her breath for a month.
Then she visibly deflated—shoulders dropping, head tilting back against the wall—and let out a quiet, choked laugh.
“…Oh thank god.”
