Summary
After thinking the worst of his financial struggles are behind him, Gi-hun relucantly returns to Kim Jeong-rae and his seedy organisation of sex workers once his mom's medical bills begin rapidly piling up.
His new dom, Hwang in-ho, is everything Gi-hun isn't - rich, successful, sophisticated, and handsome. Gi-hun is in debt, lives with his mother, and scrubs floors and toilets for a living. Why would someone like In-ho pay for sex? Summary
In-ho begins the game of cat and mouse long before Gi-hun demands to be let back onto the island. Infinitely curious about the past winner, his plans, and with the aim to prepare accordingly for Gi-hun's doomed-from-the-start attack, In-ho works diligently to build a friendship between them.
He never expects to be so played by his own game. He definitely does not expect his developing feelings for the other man to uproot everything he's built since he put on the geometric mask - to make him question his own identity and convictions. But when the consequences of loving Seong Gi-hun catch up with him to make him pay for what he's done, he might just let them.

Summary

Gi-hun parted his lips, the words forming automatically—then freezing in his throat. A prickle crawled along his spine, an instinct so sharp it felt like a hand gripping the back of his neck. Something was wrong. Deeply, quietly wrong.
Gi-hun never joined the games, but he is still a man trapped in a desperate situation. Consumed by guilt and the overwhelming need to save his mother, Gi-hun reluctantly turns to Mr. Kim, and makes a deal to work for him in exchange for an advance on the funds required for the surgery. He doesn't know the brutal and degrading nature of the work until it's too late.
But at least one of the clients treats him well. Or so he thinks...

At this point, he knows he should turn his attention elsewhere. But as 456 sinks into the mattress and In-ho settles fully on top of him, mouths glued together like they might suffocate, he can’t look away.

The man pauses at the door. Turns back. And looks at him.
“Because you didn't run away from the loan sharks for no reason. You want to live. Even when it hurts.”
Left broken on a bathroom floor after a run-in with loan sharks, Gi-hun expects death—not the stranger who crouches beside him with unsettling calm and far too much knowledge, offering something Gi-hun can't refuse. Or doesn't want to.

Summary
He’s staring down at In-ho with a wild look on his face, all teeth and sweat. In-ho knows that he hasn’t earned his forgiveness yet. So for the time being, he’ll take his fury. “You look like a killer.”
Gi-hun’s eyes widen in surprise. In-ho can see him hesitate; he’s weighing the words in his head like he’s trying on a shirt, figuring out if they fit what’s become of his fragmented sense of identity. Eventually, he comes to a decision.
“I’m not.”
In-ho feels the corners of his mouth twitch. He’s not sure if his lips are twisted in a smile or a frown. “You are.”
Gi-hun shakes his head. His eyes bear the weight of hundreds of ghosts. “No. We are not what we did.”

OR: After Gi-hun makes a different choice at the beginning of S03E05, In-ho comes to see him again.
