Summary
The sun makes a sound. It makes a sound because it’s, technically and realistically, a giant ball of gas. The pressure of its creation will always cause waves of heat to be released, the process of convection. Mina learned this offhandedly, one year in high school while simply scrolling through books out of boredom. It was interesting, to realize the sheer source of life of everything on Earth would create a sound no one would ever be able to hear, because there was no way for it to reach down the ground, nor was there any way for it to survive in such a silent space.
But if Mina was being metaphorical, if she was simply trying to verbalize her beliefs, she knew exactly what sound the sun made. Because it would be Nayeon’s laughter, the precious melodious sound that Mina felt was the reason the spring blossomed so preciously that year.
