There was a special kind of chill only Elaida do Avriny a’Rohian’s voice could bring. Moiraine felt it prickle along her skin.
“Good morning, Elaida Sedai,” she replied, quickly echoed by her two friends. Even a few girls at other tables chimed in, but the Red’s attention was all for the three before her. In fact, Moiraine suspected that—

Only Moiraine looked serene. In one hand she held sakarnen; the other traced slow deliberate weaves, as a butcher sharpening a blade. Egwene had seen her do this before. Yet her face betrayed not a trace of worry—only a spark in her eyes, a hunger Egwene could not fully understand. She, too, longed to see the Tower made whole again, to right the wrong done and repay the betrayal against Siuan Sanche, but Moiraine bore herself as though her very presence could shake the Tower to its foundations.

He rose, closing the distance they had kept until then. There had been a kind of restraint in the way they’d walked after the fight was done: circling each other, drawn to the other’s presence, yet quick to part at the slightest touch. Both needing contact, neither ready to ask for it. Now there was no space left for reserve. Lan took his place beside Moiraine—shoulder to shoulder, thigh to thigh.
It was Moiraine who laced their fingers together, just before pulling his hand to her chest, where she covered it with her free one.
“What if…” The Cairhienin cleared her throat. “What if it doesn’t come back?”

She can’t stop noticing Siuan. The little exposed v of her softly-rounded stomach where she has unbuttoned her trousers, groaning that she’d eaten too much. The way the firelight dapples gold in her cheeks, pooling inside her dimples every time she smiles, and is reflected in her dark eyes.
She can’t stop noticing Siuan, and that is a very bad thing, because the more Moiraine notices her, the more she wants her, and she isn’t allowed to want Siuan. Siuan is her friend. There’s no way Siuan could ever want her back.
(Or, four years of friendship: three times Moiraine doesn't kiss Siuan, and one time she does).

Summary
Moiraine cannot heal Tam al’Thor. He is too far gone. But she and Lan make him comfortable, and sit by his side with the baby as he dies. When it is done, Lan digs a grave. They leave as twilight falls, the boychild who will save the world strapped to Lan’s back.
Or, Lan and Moiraine find the Dragon Reborn only a few months into their mission, and are tasked with raising him until the time comes for him to fulfill prophecy.

A rewrite of the ending of 1x07 dipping into Moiraine and Lan's heads and examining the specifics of what happened on and off-screen. Moiraine knew that whoever went to the Eye of the World would die there, so she engineered it to ensure that she would be alone when that happened, without her Warder, for the first time in all their years together. Continuation into imagining what might happen next.
'That was the thing they had not been told of, in the White Tower. When they had been taught the weaves of Spirit necessary to craft a Warder’s bond, it had been shared as though they were simply creating a tool. A man sworn to protect, and serve, and die for you was a wonderful asset to have in the world. They did not speak of the reality. They did not speak of the deeper bond that they had built over twenty years. They did not speak of the love unlike anything she had ever known that she now shared with her Warder.'
