Summary
The World Government was willing to stop at nothing to end the great pirate era and the crowning of Luffy as the Pirate King and that's exactly what they did. They started a bloody war that claimed the lives of everyone Luffy called Nakama. That war was the catalyst for Luffy losing everything, whether by the government's hands or other enemies he made along his journey. That war ended with Luffy dying on the beach of Laughtale. He technically accomplished his dream, but in his eyes, it wasn't worth it without his Nakama by his side.
Luffy died ready to be reunited with everyone he lost only to wake up again in the body of his 4-year-old self and he wasn't going to let the future he came from repeat itself.

Beck had to admit that he was having a fun time sailing with his son, yes he didn't really have to do much, he spent his time able to carve once more while he watched his son laugh and play tag, or fish. Got to cuddle up with his boy and tell him stories of their adventures and vice versa.
What he was not expecting was the training.
