Civilians have always claimed that Ninja are inhuman. (The civilian rumours are not wrong.) The Ninja have always dismissed the accusations. (They should not have.)
Just because Ninja a mostly human now does not mean that is the way it has always been...
... Or that it will remain that way.
Those that fall can also rise. Madara takes the first step. Tobirama follows. Together they make it the rest of the way. (They pave the way for others to follow.)

The first move is always a feint. It's the most basic thing, to land a hit with the second move—or in his case, the second life. In which Nara Shikamaru is reborn in a completely wrong time and wrong body, where troubles manage to ensue and give him a monumental headache.
