Summary
Astrid’s family was brutally murdered by vampires when she was only a small child. Taken in by merciless vampire hunters with an unquenchable thirst for vengeance, she’s trained from a young age to hate, track and kill vampires. When she gets the chance to take down Hiccup Haddock the Third, heir to the Haddock Clan, the vampire family suspected for killing Astrid’s own, she doesn’t hesitate. But when faced with the task, she finds the vampire to be entirely different from what she expected, and decides to protect him from the people who trained her to kill him.

Summary
Amy Santiago is fresh out of college and already has the rest of her life planned out. The first step towards being a real adult is getting her first real adult job - a five week stint as a camp councillor somewhere out of state, leaving everything she knows behind to work with a bunch of people she doesn't know.
Jake has failed his final year of college at least twice now, but in the meantime he's happy to spend his summers doing super important leadership work (read: slacking off) in the middle of the forest, steadily going nowhere.
