The recruiter, Operative Lawson, claims the Alliance doesn't want to promote General Williams's granddaughter publicly but recognizes her supreme technical scores and training. Joining this Black Ops team could give Ashley everything she ever wanted.

The fight over the chip was not the end for them, but the beginning. As life reminds them that everything can be taken away in an instant, suddenly grudges and petty fights are meaningless. The hard part isn’t starting, it's staying together in a world where they are constantly fighting bioterrorism and being forced apart. Nothing in their lives is guaranteed, but if there is one thing Claire and Leon are certain of, it is that they are staying together. No matter what.

Basically, the fight over the chip was the catalyst for Leon and Claire's relationship. Followed by lots of smut, cute moments, and coping, Chris is low-key being their biggest shipper. The story starts right Infinite Darkness, all the way to RE9. Idk why I decided my first fic was going to be a long one.
