Summary
Corvin Thornfield, a young cadet training to join the Royal Army of Cammoth, is told by his commander that he, along with his best friend (an elf named Cambrian), will be escorting the three young royals of Cammoth to Eminyre, the kingdom of the elves, for diplomatic purposes. There are just a few small problems. The princess, Alanor, is murderous and impulsive; the first of the princes, Tomathus, is a raging kleptomaniac; and Prince Mercolais is allegedly possessed by a demon who is also his best friend. Worse, when he reaches the elven kingdom, he hears whispers of a sinister cult hidden within the forest of the neighbouring province of Kien.
