Hawks frowns, realizing he's just set up a question he actually has to answer. Dabi will find out anyway, won't he? If there's one thing Hawks has learned, it's that Dabi has his ways. Hawks can never hide anything from him, no matter how hard he tries, a fact that will someday spell his undoing –– but there's no way around it now.
Willing his fight-or-flight instinct into silence, Hawks reminds his sharpened feathers he's not here for either. It'll be fine. The worst part of removing a bandaid is the dread before you rip it off. Right?

The Charon Collection is an anthology of lyrics written to songs found within games/visual novels, mainly of the eponymous author CHARON (Studio Charon) but I may include others too. The lyrics can work as standalone prose or poetry in their own right. Each chapter will list the game, song name and composer that inspired each piece of writing, along with any other notes. The themes of the prose reflect similarly the themes of the games: that of existential dread, helplessness, tragedy, mental health and death. One could also assume a double entendre with Charon being the ferryman of the ancient Greek underworld although I'm sure CHARON were aware of that when naming themselves after it.
If you want to listen to the song while reading the lyrics, the syllables of the lyrics go with the melody (usually along the lines of the piano notes).
