Fluffbruary Day 12: Backwards | Feign | Recognize
-----
You had to hold back a smile as you felt the fabric of the blanket dip behind you, his presence coming close, so close you were sure he was going to spook you in some way--And you did jump as his hands curled around your head, seeing the flash of yellow felt before you slid your eyes shut and felt the soft fabric of Wally's fingers press against your eyelids.
"Guess... Who?" Wally said, his low, even tone ticking up just slightly at the end with mirth.
-----
Wally's learned a new game, and you do your best to play along.Series

Fluffbruary Day 2: Ocean | Jest | Patience
-----
Wally liked to chew on the ends of his paintbrushes, you noticed. Being that he was made of felt and stuffing, he never made a dent in them and that was probably why you hadn't noticed before. But whenever he paused, he'd stick the wooden end in his mouth and chomp down on it. Sometimes opening and closing his mouth around it several times as he stared at his palette, the canvas, or you.It was really hard to not move then-- to not burst into laughter as he seemed to space out, staring directly at you as he chewed on his paintbrush over and over.
-----
Or, Wally asks to paint you. Growing bored with just sitting there, you watch him as he works.Series

Fluffbruary Day 19: Dramatic | Small | Orange
-----
Your fingers tapped against the paper in your hold, the want to reach out rising whenever his eyes passed over you. He just sat so politely; shoulders pressed against the back, legs together and dangling off the side of the Victorian-era chaise the two of you were planted on. Just a measly eight inches of empty cushion between you and Wally.

Or, you pull Wally into your lap with no effort at all.Series

"Posture, ear and tail positions, amount of movement-- it's very important to cats. Cause like, vocalizations like meows are rare in wild populations. Eye contact is important, too. They like to stare, and can go a long time without blinking. Kind of like you."
You looked back at Wally. He was watching the clouds as they drifted above the two of you, listening quietly to your story. But he turned as you did, and his eyes widened just a touch. He lifted a hand and pointed at himself.
"Like me?"
You smiled and laughed, nodding earnestly.
"Yeah, like you!"
He tipped his head to the side, looking down at the ground. He stared intently, as if trying to fit the comparison into his view of himself.
"Oh."
-----Or, you teach Wally how to slow blink.

Summary
It was always an interesting experience to spend the night at someone else's house; there was a sort of vulnerability in it. To see your friends outside of the usual parameters of your friendship, to grew sleepy in their presence, to see them in their sleep clothes as you wished them goodnight. Most times, you and the host would retire to bed in one of two ways: either they'd go to their room or join you in the living room. Either way, you'd sleep in a sleeping bag or on the couch, if not a guest room.
That's the kind you had been accustomed to, of course. And what you had been expecting when you were invited over to Wally's home one evening. Sleeping over on his couch as you had done before.
