Emmet takes three months off of work when Ingo goes missing. Exactly one year later, he takes another month off. Two years later, another.
At three years, Ingo is declared legally dead. Emmet takes six months off work to look for him. He returns to work distraught and in need of a distraction. Fifty hour weeks quickly turn into near-seventy hour weeks.
Three years, ten months, and twelve days after Ingo goes missing, Emmet is given two weeks mandatory vacation. He returns to work four days later. Emmet is suspended from work for two months. He returns to work the next week.
Three years, ten months, and twenty-three days after Ingo disappeared, Emmet loses his job. With nothing left, Emmet will do whatever it takes to see Ingo again.
