Multiple people jumped out from behind the couch they were presumedly hiding behind, yelling, "SURPRISE!!"
Vi and Powder were standing there with their arms in the air, while their friends — Milo, Claggor and Ekko — stood behind them.
"Happy birthday, Viktor!" They chirped discordantly, their joy plastered on their faces.
Their glee was contagious, causing a laugh to bubble through Viktor’s torso. He smiled at them, then reached down to pick up his cane. He held one arm out as he walked towards the kids, "Thank you so much, children."
Powder giggled, "We haven’t even shown you the best part." Her smile was so wide, Viktor worried her face might hurt.
She turned to lead Viktor to the dining room. The posse of adolescents followed along as he trailed behind them slightly.
The smell of pizza danced in the air. He was relieved he wouldn’t have to cook dinner that day.
"Oh is it the piz—" As Viktor entered the dining room he was met with a second shock.
