Summary
Sirens believe in soulmates; they find compatible mates through song and often mate for life. Alphas are naturally deaf and can only hear the song of their Omega soulmate, with those being unable to produce offspring or are uninterested in mating being considered Betas.
Wei WuXian is an Omega of breeding age out to find a mate. With many Alphas trying to court him, he considers it a fun game to see who can bring him the best gifts. None of them hear his singing voice so they have no chance of winning him over. He wants a mate who won't tie him down to pod life.
At least, he believes that until he meets Lan WangJi, a wandering Alpha who seems more interested in his company than actually mating with him.

Summary
