Summary
Sight was next and yes, the pain made sense, because every inch of himself he could see seemed to be covered in blood or bruises. That’s also when he realised that he was naked and shackled, and lastly the memories slammed back into him. Fuck.
It made sense, he thought, that this had happened. Things were going way too well lately, after the Corinthian had been remade. -

Summary
It was not an easy thing coming back to Dalton. It had never been easy for Julian - each time he had had the horrible feeling that things were just going to be worse.
And they always were.
But this time? Yeah, nothing compared to this. After almost dying here, actually causing - even if not on purpose - the death of a man and almost causing the death of too many crazy teenagers, one would think Julian completely insane for still coming back.
But that’s the thing with Julian Larson, isn’t it? You can always count on him coming back. Maybe he just likes making an entrance, maybe he’s just too scared to move forward. Anyway here he is: back at Dalton once again.

Summary
“Don’t say it like that!”
“Like what?”
“Like we’re best friends.”
“We are best friends, Buck,” Eddie huffs. There’s a little edge in his voice, like that’s a threat.
“Eddie, you ruined my life.”
Buck and Eddie handle Eddie's move to Texas as well as can be expected. That is to say, really fucking badly.

Summary
“Hi, hi, sorry, excuse me,” the guy says. “Weird question, but would you mind doing me a massive favor?”
Eddie squints at him. It’s not exactly well-lit in here, but he’s still about ninety percent sure that this guy was not with Emilio’s bachelor party when they came in. “Do I know you?”
“Um. No,” the guy says. He’s got wide blue eyes and a nervous smile and a salt-rimmed margarita glass clutched in one large hand. As Eddie watches, he glances over his shoulder, then hunches down like he’s trying to hide. Given the size of him, it’s more ridiculous than effective. “So this is going to sound completely nuts, and I promise I’ll explain, but can I throw this frozen margarita in your face and call you a jerk?”

Summary
Buck had once told Eddie the universe was screaming at him. Truthfully, he should have screamed back.
What a cruel joke, Eddie thinks, hysterically. Take me instead, your fight is with me.
Buck & Eddie get stuck. They have a lot of feelings about it.

Summary
“I’m trying not to make it about me.”
The words seem to stop Eddie in his tracks—but only for a fleeting moment. Then, “Okay, then let me.”
Buck blinks, ignoring the feeling of a single tear fighting past the edge of his lashline. Instantly, he swipes it away. “What?”
“Let me make it about you. Talk to me. I want to know what’s going on with you. I’m not gonna be able to focus on this god awful dinner if I’m worried that you’re alone, and upset, and—”
“I miss you,” Buck confesses, abruptly, because anything else he wants to say right now is too raw, too real.
Eddie exhales into the microphone of his phone. “Yeah. Yeah, I—I know. I miss you, too.”
“No, I miss you. More than I’m supposed to, I think.”
“I’m your best friend, bud,” Eddie tells him. “I think you’re supposed to miss me. We’re eight hundred miles apart.”
Miserably, Buck shakes his head. “Not like this.”
Or: Buck finally unpacks and stumbles across a box Eddie left behind, full of sketchbooks that Buck didn’t know he owned. He’s confronted, suddenly, with the fact that his best friend has been drawing him for years.

Summary
“You were drunk. I know it didn’t mean anything. Everything’s alright.”
Buck visibly winces. “That’s not — Eddie.”
There’s a suspended moment where Buck looks torn, standing on the edge of something, eyes fixed on the horizon to avoid looking at the drop, the precipitous canyon below. But then Buck, who can’t lie, who would tear his own chest open to a complete stranger on the street because the truth of him spills so loudly out of every jagged edge, sighs out:
“It meant something.”
There’s a ringing sound somewhere in the distance, getting closer. “What are you…” Eddie trails off.
“I wasn’t — well, I was drunk. But that wasn’t what. Wasn’t why. Not entirely, or — god.” Buck shudders in a breath, steeling himself. “I have feelings for you.” He closes his eyes. “I’m so sorry.”
~
Buck confesses his feelings. Eddie’s straight. If he spends all his time thinking about Buck and looking at Buck and wanting to be around Buck, well, that’s just being a good friend, isn’t it? He’s being so normal about this, actually.
