Summary
Edgeworth and Phoenix chase a murderer out of an active crime scene into a developing blizzard and have to deal with the consequences of impulse. Snowed into the abandoned cabin where they take refuge, Edgeworth struggles to escape his own thoughts and come to terms with what is pressed up against his frigid skin.

Summary
“Wright.” Miles repeated, strangled, the word darling echoing through his head. “What are you doing?”
“Isn’t it obvious?”
“Clearly not.”
Phoenix got up from his chair and rounded the table so he could sit on Miles’s edge of it. Scandalously close, very firmly in Miles’s space as his knee bumped Miles’s elbow.
“You can’t be that dense, Edgeworth. All those hours arguing in court, and it never crossed your mind that you might put that energy to a different use?” He sought out Miles’s face, thumbs caressing sharp cheekbones and the soft valleys below them. Ever so slowly he tilted Miles’s chin up and leaned down, giving Miles plenty of time to not move away. “Aren’t you tired of dancing around this?”Phoenix got disbarred. His entire world shifted under his feet, forcing him to reevaluate things he'd previously taken for granted. When Miles arranges a meeting with him, eager to help his friend get his badge back, Phoenix decides to act on the years-long sexual tension between them.

Summary
Miles is not listening; he is biting into crisp layers of dough, lightly sugared and drizzled with the hand whipped cream that Phoenix has added the tiniest touch of brandy soaked vanilla to, in order to cut through the sweetness with some depth. The delicate strawberry roses lend a touch of tartness that makes each bite more than just a dessert- it is an experience.
“It’s okay, right?” Phoenix asks, already cleaning up.
“Perfectly adequate,” Miles says, scraping the side of his fork against the plate to get every last crumb.
