Sure he had a curse, an evil family, a tight deadline to find True Love before he turned 22, and two charismatic animal companions that he could inexplicably communicate with but compared to everything on the Grand Line, that wasn’t that weird! He was not a damsel in distress, he was not a princess out of some fairy tale, and he absolutely, positively, did not need saving.
