It’s after the defeat of the Cruel Emperor Belos, and the Isles are still trying to recover from the many years under his iron clad rule. Between the reconstruction, and all of the culture shifts going on, there is one thing that will surely lift everyone's spirits!
The All Hallows, of course!It's All Hallows' Eve, and the characters find themselves tucked around a raging campfire with snacks and a single flashlight that Luz had to explain ran on batteries, and not magic. As custom says, everyone who dares sitting around said raging flame must tell a story, one dark and scary enough to ward away the spirits that linger just out of eye sight.
All have come prepared (or ill prepared) for their moment under the spotlight. Who knows exactly what creepy crawlies are awaiting us to find, but one thing is for sure:

Emperor Belos knows The Collector cannot be allowed to share their knowledge with anyone else, least a plan to counter his is devised. But even seperated from their domain for millenia, killing a deity is no easy feat. They will cling onto existence no matter what, and they don't forgive.
Or: Rather than waiting until the actual event, Belos decides to get rid of his informant as soon as he is taught the draining spell. He had expected the blow struck should he fail.
He did not expect the direction it came from. -

Binary stars are a fascinating phenomenom. Sometimes they are so close, one so much brighter than the other, they appear as one. To find them means to look at the details, flickers in light and position.
Some stars are meant to be eclipsed, but fate is a fickle thing, small changes all it takes.

Luz doesn't hesitate, not exactly, she has already made her choice. Her friends in front, her mother by her side, all determined to give their best. Still, as she passes threshold, she cannot help the unbidden thought in the back of her mind. The way swirls shift along its surface, never revealing what lays beyond, remind her much more of their own failed attempt than the stable key and door.

Magic is rather strange, in the way that, while many scholars have studied it, few can actually make certain statements as to where it came from, what it is. The general belief is that it's the islands gift to its inhabitants, but the trapped child knows better. They were there, after all, Belos' is not the first contract he has drafted. Eons ago, back when Titans still wandered the realm, unbothered by its boiling floods, magic had been a rare, dangerous thing. Very few beings wielded it, those that did were treated akin to gods.

Summary
Hollow Knights story retold with the cast of The Magnus Archives, although it is focused much less on exploring and more on The Archives. These drabbles will very much be out of order and rather short, I mostly wish to get my thoughts out there.
