Summary
The Continent is drowning in havoc since the Nilfgaardian Empire started the war with the Northern Kingdoms, killing witchers, sorceresses, elves, and everyone who stands against their violent politics. Geralt is one of the few witchers who managed to survive the massacre; he’s forced to hide in the forest from the inquisition until a bloodied stranger appears on the threshold of his shack. He’s got a lute and a message for him.
Now, with the accompaniment of his new travel companion and with the odd help of some of his old acquaintances, Geralt has to take a risk and protect the Surprise Child and find the most experienced witcher to try and stop the war.
It’s gonna be a long way, full of blood, monsters, and losses.
And the witchers never retire.

Balancing a new composition, auditions for an infamous orchestra, and the abhorrent Valdo Marx will not nearly bring him to his wits end as much as verbally combating Lord Geralt of Rivia on the differences between weeds and wildflowers.
