"Maybe you should dress up as Ladybug for Halloween. You have the build, the hair, the eyes…. Nightingale was really into something when she cast you, however briefly."
Marinette sputters. "But- no!- What?? Why? Me as Ladybug? Ha ha. Ha ha."
"You know," Alya drops her voice, oblivious to her best friend's distress, "he tries to keep it under wraps, but it's probably our school's worst kept secret, second to your crush on him." Alya teasingly bumps their shoulders together. Marinette's cheeks pinkened.
"What is?" She wants to glare at her friend, but curiosity has gotten the better of her. She doesn't know it's absolutely the Wrong Thing to ask...at least for her sanity.
"Well, according to Nino," Alya leans in conspiratorially, "our dear sunshine child totally has it bad for the Bug. Like, puts-me-to-shame biggest-fan material… Marinette? Marinette, are you even listening?"
Yes. That's the problem. Yes, absolutely, she is.
