“I don’t-,” Shane tried to start, tried to bring himself to look Ilya in the eyes, but found more tears threatening to spill over. He winced as he tried to blink them away, only for them to fall anyway. Ilya felt Shane’s hands starting to tremble.
“I know it is hard, but please let me help you,” Ilya said. “Is like how you help me, yes? When I can’t remember an English word, you help me think of it. Let me help you find your words, okay?”
Shane felt his heart flutter and his stomach flip. God, he loved him so much.

“Listen to me,” he said, sitting and taking Shane’s hand. “If we are both single by the time we are thirty, what I assume we will be, we get married.”
“Okay,” he said. Ilya smiled brightly at him. “It’s a deal.”

Summary
Shane nuzzles the top of his head before leaning in and pressing his mouth to Ilya's forehead.
The kiss is brief and feather-light and casual and yet it's everything for Ilya.
He's quite sure it's impossible for him to smile any wider than he's smiling right now. His heart is fluttering happily in his chest, a content warmth spreading through his body as Shane lingers there, hugging him and humming softly and still placing little kisses on Ilya's temple.

What if it was the Metro's plane that almost crashed?
This is the alternate universe where Shane's plane almost crashes. What would Shane message Ilya if he thought it was the end and how would Ilya handle not knowing if Shane was alive or dead?He was scared for Ilya. He’d sacrificed so much for Shane and now Shane was… if Shane was going to die then Ilya did it for nothing. Shane fucked Ilya’s life and would never deliver on the pay off. There would be no lifetime to make it up to him.
