If anyone ever went to the forever-strict Chu-laoshi’s office hours, they would be surprised.
There is a single picture on his office desk, facing toward him, of two intertwined hands. One is tanned and large, the other pale and delicate; there are matching rings on each ring finger.
There is a vase in the left corner, tucked against the wall, always full of fresh flowers. If it were anyone else, any visiting student would think that Chu-laoshi had an admirer of some kind that brought them to him every week.
