Seonghwa doesn't know why he says it. But he says it. The three words roll out of his mouth quite easily, as if they were waiting for the day to finally fly free.
“I love you.”
Hongjoong doesn’t even look up from his camera. His expression is unchanged as he fiddles with the lens. For a second Seonghwa thinks that Hongjoong didn’t hear it. Maybe the sea had swallowed the words or the stillness of the night had taken it away.
The seconds pass by slowly.
Seonghwa waits.
“It will pass,” Hongjoong answers, not even bothering to look back at Seonghwa as he says it.
Their relationship hasn’t been the same since.
