Summary
Six months ago, Shane’s intimate conversation and break-up with Rose Landry was recorded and leaked. In those six months, his life had completely upended and everything had changed, for better or for worse. Except for Ilya. He still has Ilya, and he’s beginning to understand that he always will.

Maybe if the video ended there, Shane thought, it would be okay. Okayish. Still incriminating. Still a fucking disaster. Still embarrassing, to have his breakup with this beautiful actress filmed and disseminated on Reddit of all fucking places, but not a nail in his coffin, burying him alive. But the video didn’t end there.
“Can I ask if you’ve ever been with another guy?” she had to ask.
And he, tears visible in his eyes, had to nod.
Just once. Just a single nod.
Why did he have to nod?
“Have you ever told anyone that before?” He shook his head. “Was it different? With a guy?”
“Of course.”
Of course.
“Was it better?”
“Yes.”

Shane’s conversation with Rose is secretly recorded. Months later, after the All-Star game and Ilya’s confession in Russian, the video gets leaked online. Shane is outed to the world while Ilya is in Russia, and must now finish the 2016-2017 season with the entire world in on his secret.

Summary
Kip loves Scott, so he's willing to join him wherever he's needed, whether that's at games or social events or - god forbid - MLH-mandated youth hockey initiatives.
Even if Ilya Rozanov is there.
OR: Kip and Ilya meet after the on-ice kiss. An unlikely friendship ensues, along with an even more unlikely double date.
OR: Scott Hunter thinks Rozanov might have found a new and unusual method of torture: making friends with his boyfriend. That alone is bad enough, but when Rozanov shows up at his door with Shane Hollander in tow, Scott is left to reckon with the frankly unfathomable fact of their secret decade-long relationship.
He still thinks he's too lazy to be a serial killer, but perhaps a single premeditated murder isn't off the table.

Summary
There was a countdown timer, labelled 'two weeks', behind Shane’s eyes, counting down every single second dutifully, no matter what. Every day, every night, every meal, every laugh, every fuck, constantly the timer was counting down, no matter how much Shane was screaming internally to appreciate what he had right then before it would be taken from him until next year. Whether Shane was living in the moment or not, that countdown did not care that they had already spent their entire relationship stealing moments together whenever they could.
Their entire first year together, their first year finally telling each other the truth, would be spent exactly as it had been since they were teenagers: one of them in Montreal and one of them in Boston, careers too important to risk, settling for fake contact names and quickly fucking in hotel rooms when they played against each other. Except, now that they were honest about their love for each other, their distance would hurt even fucking worse.

Shane nearly drives himself mad, dreading when Ilya will have to leave his cottage in a week. When Ilya decides to stay, he somehow freaks out even more.
