Or: Kate sees the similarities between the EF5 and the Stillwater Rodeo which only has her thinking one thing, Tyler is gone just like Jeb. This causes some feelings that only Tornado Wrangler Tyler Owens can help her out of. (aka: Kate thinks Tyler has been blown away, cue panic attack and soft Tyler).

When the dust settled, and the wind stopped roaring, and he couldn’t feel his fingers losing their grip on Lily’s, the only thing/person on his mind was her.
Kate Cooper.
The only person who had ever made him feel so incredibly seen.
Which by definition, was a bold statement to make after such a short time of having her in his orbit.
(Or : after everything, Tyler realises he can’t live without Kate and Kate slowly begins to let Tyler tear down her walls she’d built so incredibly high.)
