Tom spun, gun snapping up on instinct.
The thing at the end of the alley was tall with broad shoulders. Wrapped in a ratty blue coat so stiff with old blood it looked black in places. One leg lagged behind the other, knee locking and unlocking in a way that screams wrong, boot leaving a crooked path through the snow as it stumbled forward. Its head lolled slightly, jaw hanging loose like it had forgotten how to close.

Lyles face lights up when he sees Sam, quickly shutting and relocking the door behind him before he takes a hesitant step forward, as if he wants to approach Sam but doesn’t know how he’s going to react.

Did you know? While crocodilians have enormous bite force, the muscles used to open their jaws are much weaker. The average person could hold one's mouth shut if needed. Don't see what good that does somebody, already in the water. But I guess it's a comfort.

It was over.
It was all over.
The words kept crumbling and falling and crashing inside of Red Leader's mind. He could only make out vague images of the soldiers escorting him on either side. He could hear people speaking around him, to him, but it didn’t matter. Nothing mattered. His regime was over and now he was nothing. However, he knew exactly who to blame. He gritted his teeth. He'd never expected his homecoming to be like this.
Red Leader's army has fallen. His officers have been scattered and he's been taken prisoner by Europe's savior: The Green Rebellion. Tord thinks he knows what kind of torture awaits, but it's worse than he ever could have imagined: it has a personal touch.

there aren't a lot of things that will get you to sleep the night before a mission-- a hot bath, a bottle of benzos, a good lay, a severe concussion. all four of these are currently unavailable to you, so you spend the first few hours pacing, and the next few cracking bad jokes on the shortwave with edd and matt before the two of them sign off for bed. you consider bashing your skull into the reinforced steel door a few times, just to see if it'd knock you out for a bit. ultimately decide against that.
you move onto plan b.

So a banana and a squid walk into a bar..
It started out so simple. One night, Edd came home with a brand new flavor of cola. The next thing he knew, Tord was alone. Stranded in an unfamiliar laboratory, being stalked by the goulish beasts that had once been his friends. They're trying to make a cure. However, it's rather hard to stay focused when Edd could invite himself in on their work at any time. It doesn't matter what precautions they took. With that soda, he had opened a gateway to another dimension.
