David had one of them now, dragging him back by the collar, the guy kicking and swearing, blood already smeared across his arm.

He shoved the surfer forward.

“Go on,” David said, quieter now. “You’re starving.”
Michael shook his head automatically. “I’m not—”

Newest on the list of Jacks long list of demands following his departure from the beach, and by association, Ralph, had been Simon. Not borrowing Simon, not relaying a message. Oh no, that would be far too simple. And Jack Merridew is anything but simple.
Jack and Ralph come to a "Custody arrangement" for Simons time to be split 50/50 between Castle Rock and The beach.
Arguements ensue between the two, because, of course they do. But at some point, without either of them realizing, it stops being about Simon...

A plan for three days laying on the beach, doing nothing, turns into a drawn out cross country road trip. Which, of course, leads to many revelations.One, Tim Drake loves Conner Kent. [Cassie, Bart, Cissie, Greta, and Anita already know this]
Two, Tim Drake hates having like twelve million jobs. [A surprise to no one but Tim]
Three, Tim Drake cannot remember the last time he wasn’t sore, hiding an injury, or just running around to put out the next metaphorical fire. [Again, not a surprise]
Four, Kon is a fantastic masseuse. [No, Tim is not telling him. It will only inflate his ego.]
Five, Kon’s control of his TTK has gotten infinitely better. [Again, not telling him.]
And six, the world totally doesn’t fall apart when Tim takes a break. [Pay no attention to Gotham City nearly burning to a crisp]
