“Why did you save me?” the assassin’s voice sounds dangerously threatening, and Pat wonders if that is how a person should speak to their saviour. Maybe genius solitary assassins have a different set of manners. He doesn’t know. He’s a simple man, okay?
Pat turns back and shrugs, and starts walking out again.
The guy walks two steps faster than him and stands in front of him, eyes staring straight into his. Pat only notices a flash of silver before a knife is pointed at his throat, just centimetres away from his skin.
“Tell me,” the guy pushes the knife closer, “why did you save me?”
Pat sighs, “You do realise that I have a gun right? I could end you literally here.”
The guy narrows his eyes further, “I am faster than you.”
