Summary
Waves of color permeate the air, that buzz in his head growing louder and he hisses in pain, leaning heavily against his cane. He feels rooted to the spot as something emerges from the spattering of colors, a flashing light that nearly blinds him. It grows and grows, shimmering like starbursts, sparking wildly. He squeezes his eyes shut and something splutters with a pop, fizzling almost violently in the air.
He opens his eyes and there is a man before him, falling to his knees with a shuttering gasp, hands gripped tight around the arm of a hammer. All Viktor can see is shaggy dark hair and tattered clothes before amber brown eyes are staring wildly up at him, bloodshot and wide—
And familiar. So, so familiar.
Viktor would know him anywhere, anywhere at all, just by those eyes.
(Or, a feral Jayce drops into the lap of a Viktor who has yet to invent Hextech.)

Summary
Jayce knew it was going to hurt when he saw the first fissure in the crystal.
His second thought was relief that he was the only one in the lab.
He felt oddly numb. He brought his hand in front of him. The effect was….unsettling. Moving quickly his body could not seem to keep itself together. Particles of his skin floated in the wake of his hand.

Geralt was quiet for a long moment. He didn't turn around. “Sometimes,” he grumbled.

Summary
Jaskier is a half succubus, half naiad abomination, the only of his kind that he or anyone else knows of. Due to the cruelty of humans, he’s bound to serve Aedirn royalty. They send him on a mission to kill a witcher: Geralt the White Wolf whose school is funded by Kaedwen royalty, as is common in this universe. He’s being rewarded for being a particularly successful pet monster-slayer with a banquet in his honor and a night with a beautiful songbird. Nothing goes according to plan and the two end up more or less (unhappily) stuck with each other in the midst of a potential war.
This is not a fluffy love story and Geralt and Jaskier are both a bit of a dick.
Note about rape/non-con tag: There is a lot of extremely dubious consent in this one pertaining to the fact Jaskier is a succubus with charming abilities. Although he doesn’t exactly force anyone to sleep with him, he charms partners into not noticing what he is, telling him their desires, and then forgetting about him.
