In Din's dream, the jedi had appeared by his side, eyes wide and bearing into Din. Standing close enough that Din could almost count the light freckles dusted on his nose. He was talking with urgency, but his voice got lost in the wind howling in Din’s ears. The storm cracked above them, rain suddenly washing down Din’s face. His bare face. The Jedi leaned closer, the warmth of his face now so close Din could feel it on his cheek. His last words rang loud and clear in Din’s mind before he woke up with a start.
“Find me.”

A few weeks after Din entrusts Luke with Grogu, both men are awoken by a dream that does not feel like a dream.

Luke looks up from his computer at the knock on his office door, and blinks in surprise when he sees Mando there, looking… unsure.
“Can I talk to you?”
“Of course.” Luke says, leaning back in his chair. Mando looks extremely pained as he opens his mouth.
“Luke.” He says, looking as if it took every inch of his self discipline to drag out the single syllable of Luke’s name, “- I need your help.”
“Try saying it like you aren’t getting a lobotomy.”
“Grogu wants to celebrate Christmas this year.” Mando says, evenly. “But I don’t know the first thing about Christmas.”
Whatever Luke was expecting it wasn’t that.
“Uh. What?”
“I didn’t celebrate Christmas as a kid." Mando looks increasingly frantic, “-you said you had perfect Christmases, what am I supposed to do?”

Din Djarin has never celebrated Christmas before in his life, and yet has an extremely precocious kid who wants to.
Faced with the humiliation of exposing his failures as a parent to his family and friends, he instead turns to the one person whose opinion of him probably can’t get any lower…. and vice versa.
