Martin could delay that by sharing his heat, but it wouldn't make any difference; the secret is as good as out, now. In all likelihood, he'll lose his job; no one wants an omega pilot. .....there's a carnival in (park) every summer
pack your bags John, we're going. to (maybe Devon).
(so they go to Devon and start chatting around about the carnival which is SPOOKY and HAUNTED and hear all the creepy stories the locals have about it, all of which sound easily explained ("dark shapes in the night? soo... maybe the janitors?" "loud noises, tipped over trash cans? I think you have stray cats" kind of thing) and then they go there and maybe it takes a day and maybe it takes more but they get caught up in all the creepy shit and LO AND BEHOLD IT'S ALL REAL.
when the men from London didn't check out, the hotel owner charged an extra day to their card. when they still didn't, he stored their bags in the administrative office, reported the disappearance, and booked the room to someone else. he was baffled when London police took such a keen interest in this particular carnival-related disappearance, but he cooperated with the silver-haired DI. later, he handed the men's bags over to a well-dressed man with an umbrella without complaint. he didn't know why MI5 was so interested in those two men, and he didn't want to.
