Summary
Le prime parti di Luminosity sono molto simili alla storia reale per gli eventi che accadono, anche se alcuni aspetti del carattere di Bella, ed i suoi monologhi interiori, sono totalmente differenti.
Dopo circa un migliaio di parole, la storia è irriconoscibile.
La storia ed i personaggi del mondo di Twilight rimangono gli stessi in Luminosity fino al punto in cui la storia comincia, con un'eccezione: Bella ha una razionale consapevolezza di sè stessa con una tendenza a scrivere in un diario tutto quello che le passa per la testa. Mantiene molti dei tratti e dei comportamenti del personaggio reale -e Luminosity è una storia Bella/Edward - ma è anche molto differente.
Luminosity è ispirata in parte ad "Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality", in cui Harry è un ragazzo dalla mente scientifica e acuta, che è stato cresciuto da Petunia ed il suo marito AU, un professore universitario. Luminosity si basa molto anche sul materiale che si trova in una serie di post con lo stesso titolo, sempre scritti da Alicorn.

Summary
Evan "Buck" Buckley had a normal life. A normal boyfriend (too normal), a normal job, normal parents (whom he hates), and a sister he loves. His whole life seemed normal until he met Eddie Diaz, bringing his son Christopher to the school where Buck works.
When their eyes met, Buck knew that Eddie would be his alone. So, Buck started to stalk him without knowing that Eddie wanted him too.
OR
A story where Buck stalks Eddie Diaz, thinking that he is just a single father with an adorable son whom Buck wants as his own. Not knowing that Eddie is a mafia boss and wants Buck as his spouse and mother of his mijo.

“Well,” Buck says, as Eddie slams the hood of the car shut on the smoking engine, some twenty minutes after crossing the border into Arizona. “That’s unfortunate.”
Or: one ambulance ride, hospital visit, partial drive, tow truck, shitty motel with one bed, and weird comment from a sheriff later, BuckandEddie finally find their last piece and make it home.

Summary
Buck's always known that Eddie was strong.
Knowing Eddie was strong and seeing it put on full display were two different things. Especially when strength was the entire point of this specific challenge.
Or, Eddie pulls a firetruck with his body and Buck nearly comes on the spot. God forbid he wants his strong best friend to slam him into a couple walls. Or better yet, into the mattress.

“He’s not my boyfriend! He’s Eddie! He’s a renter, and he’s straight,” Buck said proudly, as if that clarified anything.
The reporter hesitated. “So he was there because...?”
“He’s a paramedic,” Buck said, nodding solemnly. “Well, he used to be my firefighter partner, and now he’s someone else’s paramedic partner, which is fine, I guess. I miss him, though. He’s… he’s kind of my favorite person.”
The reporter blinked, caught somewhere between touched and deeply uncomfortable. “Well, it’s a good thing he was there!”
Buck brightened, grinning wide and loopy. “Yeah, isn’t he the best? Man, I love him. And not just in a straight renter way. In a bisexual homeowner way. I just bought a house, you know!”

Summary
Eddie can’t fathom how Tommy could be so lucky to have someone like Buck and just not worship the ground he walks on, failing to see the miracle standing in front of him. He isn’t perfect, but he’s certain of one thing: he’d do better. He’d be so, so much better for Buck. He might not be worthy of Buck’s love, but Eddie can be a better boyfriend than Tommy ever will and he’s going to show him as if it was the last thing he’d ever do.
Or the one in which Eddie's had enough and finally does something about it.
