Summary
Le prime parti di Luminosity sono molto simili alla storia reale per gli eventi che accadono, anche se alcuni aspetti del carattere di Bella, ed i suoi monologhi interiori, sono totalmente differenti.
Dopo circa un migliaio di parole, la storia è irriconoscibile.
La storia ed i personaggi del mondo di Twilight rimangono gli stessi in Luminosity fino al punto in cui la storia comincia, con un'eccezione: Bella ha una razionale consapevolezza di sè stessa con una tendenza a scrivere in un diario tutto quello che le passa per la testa. Mantiene molti dei tratti e dei comportamenti del personaggio reale -e Luminosity è una storia Bella/Edward - ma è anche molto differente.
Luminosity è ispirata in parte ad "Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality", in cui Harry è un ragazzo dalla mente scientifica e acuta, che è stato cresciuto da Petunia ed il suo marito AU, un professore universitario. Luminosity si basa molto anche sul materiale che si trova in una serie di post con lo stesso titolo, sempre scritti da Alicorn.

"Buck!"
He skidded into the living room, hands already reaching for a trauma shear he wasn't carrying, expecting blood, a fall, a home invasion.
Instead, he found Buck on a cork yoga mat in the centre of the room. He was folded—horrifically, impressively—into a shape that defied human anatomy.
And he was wearing leggings—high-waisted, charcoal-grey compression pants that clung to every swell of his thighs and the heavy, rounded curve of his glutes like a second skin.
"Eddieee," Buck wheezed, his voice muffled by the mat. "Don't… don't laugh. My hip locked. I’m stuck."
Local man helped his bestfriend do yoga to stare at his ass for 45 minutes.

Summary
Buck knows what it's like to feel abandoned and he'd be damned if this tiny baby was going to grow up feeling like he had.
A baby is left at the 118 with a note stating he had done his job as a saviour sibling. Buck takes this to heart and sets about to show the baby that the world isn't completely full of terrible people; And if he reaffirms his definition of family along the way, so be it.

Summary
So Buck left the firehouse with his son on his hip, his wedding ring on his finger, and his husband by his side.
OR
Buck's husband is recovering at the US German field hospital after his convoy was shot down, but no one at the station seems to understand just how serious that news story was to him.

Summary
“So you just, went along with us being married?” he questions and, although he tries to come off as casual, even he can hear the sharp undertone.
In his defence, Buck does blush at that. “It seemed easier than explaining that I’m just a friend who’s buying your groceries because you can’t cook to save your life.”
The instant retort of, “You’re more than just a friend.” comes to mind but Eddie swallows it down, shaking his head and trying to laugh it off.

Summary
The LAFD mandates that all new hires complete their heat or rut leave prior to their probationary year as vacation accruals take time. Newly divorced, Eddie turns up at the Center to undergo his rut in privacy before starting at the 118. There, he meets an atypical omega whose heat partner forgot about him and whose only criteria is that his alpha be kind.
