Fortunately, he reined in his tongue in time. Otherwise he’d shiver from how oddly fond that nickname would sound. With how easily it had rolled off his tongue, it was like he had said it many, many times before, and it almost seemed as if he was longing to say it.
It may be a trick of his mind, but You Huo sensed a vague smoky scent exuding from the man, followed by traces of gunpowder and ash. But those traces were very dull and indubitably faint, engraved into his pigeon-grey scarf as though they were left by a person's wilful and unrelenting grip from a certain time ago.
