“Wait—hold on.” Geto’s voice sharpens. He shakes his head like he’s trying to knock the absurdity loose. “What? Go back—What did you just say?”
Ijichi takes a breath and starts again. “Gojo is… dead.”
Geto shakes his head immediately. “No, that’s—is this some kind of joke? You’re fucking with me. This is some… this is just one of his—”
Ijichi doesn’t speak. Just shakes his head. The lie is heavy in his throat.
Geto’s smile crumbles. “Oh my god.” He takes a step back like the floor moved under him. “Are you serious?”
Who needs proper communication when you can fake your death and leave your kids to gather intel on your ex?

Suguru wraps his hand over the other’s mouth, mindful of the fact that the teacher could enter at any moment now. “I’m Getou Suguru. What’s your name?”
“Gojo Satoru,” he introduces himself, pulling Suguru’s hand down and into a complicated handshake he clearly made up on the spot. Suguru follows along intuitively. “I’m your new best friend, Suguru.”
