But will Hob get his happy ending, too?

When Dream misses their appointment in 1989, Hob goes looking. He gets a nudge in the right direction from Crowley (Good Omens), enlists the help of Johanna Constantine (who exists at whatever point in time is necessary for the purpose of any story), and rescues his friend from the fishbowl. Then, left to his own devices with no way to contact Dream, he accidentally builds a temple (aka the New Inn), meets Calliope, and writes a book about his *ahem* endless life experiences. Dream finally notices.
Or, every time I saw a trope that I liked, I grabbed it and smashed it together and called it a story.
