Ilya feels the ground give out from under his feet. His mind is like a broken record, repeating the phrase “Hayden and I hooked up” over and over again, cutting deeper each time, cracks appearing all over his impeccable armour. He catches onto the last part, how Shane thought he was “dispensable” and “not worth more than a quick fuck” and his armour shatters completely, the remains catching on fire and spreading through his body like a forest fire, incinerating everything in its wake.
Or: Shane sleeps with Hayden. Ilya finds out.
