Summary
After the death of his first wife, Rhaegar Targaryen legitimately married Lyanna Stark. While he was being killed on the trident, Lyanna gave birth to their son, the son of the wolf and the dragon. Lyanna died before naming her baby. His brother Ned named the poor boy Jon, in honor of Jon Arryn, in the hope of lessening Robert's dislike for the child. The boy was taken hostage by the crown. Rhaegar's heir was too necessary to walk around free. After growing up, in addition to having to deal with Robert's hatred, the boy also had to deal with the "love" that the crown prince had for him.
