Day Six of Whumptober - Dragged Away
“Find Tony, kid. Get him to take you home. The rest of us are going to wait here for Shield to get here and take care of this.”
“Aye, aye, Captain,” Peter says, slinging himself up to the top of the building to survey the area for the red suit. “Is he not online?”
“His suit went offline a few minutes ago. I assumed he was done and took it off.” Steve doesn’t sound bothered at all, but Peter is. Tony wouldn’t have just taken off his suit.
Karen wordlessly pulls up a map to Tony’s last location and Peter takes off, webbing through the trees. Something’s wrong. He can feel it.

Summary
Disaster strikes Manhattan while Tony is out getting coffee. All he can think about is finding Peter, who’s on a field trip to MOMA, but on his way there he comes across Bucky, who is injured and can’t walk on his own. In response to the Sicktember 2023 prompt: “I shouldn’t be worried about you, but for some reason I am.”
OR
Tony can’t call a suit to him because an EMP of some sort went off, so he’s stuck dragging Bucky back to Stark Tower, when all he wants to do is go and find his son to be sure he’s still alive. Tony-centric POV, lots of post-Rogue Avengers returning conflict resolution between Tony and Bucky, and a good Bucky and Peter moment.

The younger man hums and slams the trunk close again. Bucky is quiet for a moment but Sam can hear him moving a little, the soft buzzing of his vibranium arm when he shift.
''I fucked up.''
Sam freezes, his hand hovering in the air with the car keys inside. Panic grips his lungs in a death-grip when he hears Bucky's voice again, suddenly audible trembling with emotions. He turns around, his eyes falling on the warehouse in the distance. It suddenly looks haunted, mocking him from where it stands far away.
Too far away.
Or, Bucky gets seriously injured during a mission.
