Summary
Charles spends the press conference pretending like Max doesn’t have his full focus. How he manages to hear the questions from the reporters, Charles doesn’t know, but he does. And he manages to give his answers, even if he is hyper aware of Max next to him the entire time. He’s aware of every tiny little movement, every shift of Max’s back on the couch, every brush of long fingers over Max’s microphone. The way Max always handles that fucking microphone has done things to Charles’ body on so many occasions already, but today — Christ, Charles feels on the verge of losing his fucking mind.
And then Max says something equally obscene.
“A lot of cardio and a lot of wrist training.”
Charles nearly fucking chokes on his own spit.
His mind starts to race as the corners of his mouth quirk up into a smile.

Derek growled even before the word had fully passed Stiles’ lips. “Don’t lie to me, what’s-”
A foreign, sweet scent reached his nostrils and the words caught in his throat. What was that? Leaning in, Derek took a deep breath. He’d smelt this particular aroma before, but he couldn’t remember where.
Face crumpling, Stiles slumped back against the headboard, looking utterly defeated. A low mumble was all he could work up to, face turned away so Derek couldn’t see his expression. “There was a little mishap at Deaton’s.”
