Soon, another mouth covered his, Merlin closed his eyes, slowly savoring the kiss, infused with the mist of Hogwarts at midnight, the sweet aroma of butterbeer from Hogsmeade, and the passion of sweat and adrenaline from the Quidditch pitch.
"Predecessor," the Gryffindor head—well, predecessor—let go of his mouth and playfully bit Merlin's earlobe, "I've graduated, you're getting old and confused, professor." He deliberately emphasized the word 'old.'
"Prat." Merlin pulled away until he could look Arthur fully in the face, "thought you weren't coming tonight. Big star."
