By removing traditional hard barriers to connection, it provides all eligible participants with the opportunity to build strong supportive relationships without the delays typically associated with dating or courtship.
The wizarding world becomes ecstatic over the new marriage law that's cleverly being passed as a new trendy way to meet your forever match. Only Hermione seems to be able to see or care for what it really is, a way to regrow the wizard population.
Everyone ridicules Hermione, telling her to let it go as shes exempt from the new law due to her own engagement anyway. That is, until she wakes up to a letter from the Ministry with a date set and scheduled for her marriage to her new anonymous match that has been assigned after Ron fails to return home after a stag night out with his friends.
