Sam narrowed her eyes. “Ugh, you know I hate that kind of attitude. It’s materialistic; we don’t actually need another bag, Paulina!”
“But I want one!”
“Why?! It doesn’t even look that good.”
“Because— because—! Because it’s not about the bag!” Paulina shouts.

Step One: Greet the teenage Lucius Malfoy and wish him a happy seventeenth birthday.
Step Two: Mingle in the proto-Death Eater birthday bash as little as possible without seeming rude or drawing attention to herself.
Step Three: Cash in on Lucius’ promised “Tour of the illustrious Malfoy Library.”
Step Four: Find as many mentions of Time Turners and time travel as possible, also without drawing attention to herself.
Step Five: Get the fuck out of this house and this time before she irrevocably changed everything for the worse.It was clearly a fool proof plan. Absolutely no opportunities for it to go pear-shaped. None at all.

Dina kissed her so suddenly that Amy wasn’t even sure what was happening at first. Her eyes went wide and she stiffened with surprise, back going rigid as Dina leaned into her. It was perfunctory, business-like, exactly how she’d imagined Dina would kiss. If she’d ever imagined kissing Dina, which she definitely hadn’t.
“Huh,” Dina hummed thoughtfully when she pulled away, running her tongue across her bottom lip. “Well, it definitely wasn’t great. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had worse, but I’d give that a three.” She paused to reconsider. “You know what, two-point-five.”
“I wasn’t ready,” Amy defended, realizing just a moment too late that that wasn't why she should be upset.
