Summary
Steve and Bucky had been best friends since they were just pups, long before they both presented and they found out Steve was an alpha and Bucky was omega. Since then, Bucky had watched with jealousy as the man he was pining for flirted around with all the pretty omega girls and never seemed to notice Bucky as more than a buddy; a friend.
So when his parents set him up for the arranged marriage Bucky had known was coming his whole life, the omega was unkissed and untouched still. A virgin. And what made it worse; they'd arranged for him to marry no one other than Steve. The alpha he wanted more than anything, but that didn't seem to want him back.
Except when their wedding day comes, and Bucky's first heat is crashing upon him, Steve suddenly shows up at his door to tell him something.

Bucky is brought in in a rut to the VA, Steve is an atypically big Omega they think can handle him.
“Where did you catch him?”
“Downtown, behind a disused warehouse, ripping up old metal sheeting and yelling at nothing.”
“We know who he is?” Steve frowned at the picture on the screen of the distressed man.
“He’s an Alpha, of course, a vet, James Barnes. Bloody dangerous man in his day. Got taken behind enemy lines for a while, then a lot of confidential documents I’m not allowed to read about top secret lone missions, special forces, that kind of thing.”
“Hmm.” Steve watched him.
“You fancy a challenge?” Mike looked up from the screen.
Steve laughed.

Summary
Basically, the Avengers have no idea what to do with Steve and Bucky’s relationship. It’s super 1940s, very traditional, and honestly kind of disturbing to the modern eye. Doesn’t help that Steve and Bucky are also kinky as shit.
