Summary
Since beginning this arrangement, he’s starting to see a whole new side to Yagi that he never would have expected before - like that one fancy art exhibition Nem pulled him to a few months back in Tokyo. There was some specific collection there; all about things that looked flat, lifeless, from a distance, and with just a few steps closer down a stark white hall turned into fully formed, dimensional objects.
Maybe that metaphor’s a little on the nose. But the point stands.
It would be hard, not to fall a little bit in love with the Yagi he's come to know. Harder to hang up the irrational hope of it being returned.

“Mornin’, sleepyhead.” Shouta’s dark eyes flutter as Toshinori’s hand sweeps across his forehead, gathering up sleep-tousled raven locks to tuck behind the younger hero’s ear. “Did you rest well?”
“Hnn,” Shouta hums, because full, coherent sentences require energy and effort and he’s not about that life right now. Toshinori won’t mind. Probably.
“It, uh… It looks like you were having a nice dream.” Shouta’s lips twitch, not quite catching the meaning behind Toshinori’s words. If he was having a pleasant dream, he certainly doesn’t remember it now.
Toshinori continues stroking his head, curling his fingers through Shouta’s dark, silky hair－and really, if his goal is to wake Shouta up, he should really stop petting him like a goddamn cat. Because this… this is nice. “Don’t remember.” He slurs, nuzzling closer to the crease of Toshinori’s thigh.
“I… I, um…” Okay, so apparently they’re talking now. “I could help you with that, if you want."
