Summary
“It’s gonna rain soon,” Peter said, not looking at Tony, who had landed by his side.
Silence met his words, so Peter contented himself with angling his head skyward. Maybe if he stayed still for long enough he’d get washed away.
“Kid, I need you to be okay,” his mentor finally spoke, sounding ragged.
Peter resisted the knee jerk urge to tell the man that he never would be, that it wasn’t an option anymore- it felt unkind.
Instead, he simply gave a soft smile as the first rain drop hit his cheek.
Or
Living a normal enough (dare he say happy) life for a twenty year old part-time student, part-time vigilante, Peter feels settled for the first time in a long time.
Which is, of course, when everything conspires to go wrong all at once.
But the question is, will he tell Tony the truth that even he can hardly stomach, or will he let his ever-spiralling series of deceptions swallow him whole?
The slow unravelling of Peter Parker, piece by piece.

Summary
Peter Parker knows for a fact that smart kids always know they're smart. Another thing he knows: it fucking sucks to be a smart kid. It means being watched all the time, it means adults peering down their noses, it means tests and homework and boredom. It means fieldtrips to Oscorp and superpowers. It means watching Ben die, knowing exactly whose fault it is. It means an internship at Stark Industries, it means becoming an Avenger, it means getting dusted, coming back, watching another father figure die, watching him come back. It means holding May's hand while she babbles incoherently, inching towards death. It means magic spells and forgetting and seven years of lonely vigilanteism. It means making wrong choice after wrong choice after wrong choice.
One thing Peter Parker knows for sure? Smart kids grow up to be the dumbest adults.

Summary
Peter Parker’s life was amazing.
He was in the top of his class, a brilliant future scientist. He also had his awesome hero abilities he used to fight crime under the alias of Spider-man. And with the support of his best friend, Ned, and his Aunt May, he felt unstoppable. Things were far from perfect, money’s a little tight, and maybe he should sleep a little more, but life was good and Peter was happy.
That's until a drunk driver crashes into Aunt May driving home from a late shift, taking her life. Forcing him to choose between the streets or the nasty foster care system.
But it's fine. Peters got it under control, at least he still has Spider-man. Except he managed to land on none other than SHIELD and therefore the Avenger’s radar, who are now trying to track him down for apparently being a threat.
OKAY, fine things are tough. But at THE VERY LEAST, he has his awesome superpowers to help him over this rough patch. Right? Nope, apparently the stress of everything is causing his abilities to mutate further, leaning him more spider than man, and he’s horrified as the new developments make it increasingly difficult to live a normal life outside of heroism.Peter Parker’s life is so not amazing.
