    Izuku finds the dark a much more comforting place. In the shadows, he finds acceptance.
    Then the dark is just…haven. Home.
    (It was never about dying. It was about feeling safe again.)

    *second chapter is not necessary, but acts as a continuation of the first chapter and includes both fluff and a sadder, angrier ending.

    He learns to make peace where he can, and cope where he can't. There isn't quite a way to come back after your dreams have been smashed into so many pieces that you can't remember what your dreams were. The original image is distorted.

    You're not quite living and you're not quite getting by. And if you had one thing to tell your younger self? Quit now. Quit early. Stop dreaming because it hurts.

    (A post-suspected traitor AU where Izuku never quite fully recovers and the world is dimmer without his light.
    But the world won't remember that either.)
