Summary
It's been a long road to get to Ashford Meadow - and not just from Summerhall. Too much planning and preparation has gone into this to have it be anything but a success.
Now, with their guests arrived and the tourney starting, Lord Ashford's sister-in-law is sitting back on her laurels and enjoying the party for once - and the attentions of some of their guests, if the gods are good.

Summary
"By rights your mother ought to be here with this hand of yours," Alicent said quietly to the baby, "but rights matter little to the Stranger. By rights my mother ought to be here, too - you and I have that in common. She would have said something - spoken up for the queen sooner in her labor. She had difficult births, too." Alicent paused. "She would have known what to say, what to do."
The Queen is dead. Long live the Prince.

Summary
Draven wasn’t blind — he knew the senator was beautiful, but often that beauty, regal and untouchable, went hand in hand with the symbol. He had forgotten that she was just a woman, and it seemed this night was all about reminding him that she was a desirable one.

Summary
He likely ought not curse any gods - old or new or in between. Yet it was difficult to fear a hell come the afterworld when he was living in one already, and no gods worth honoring would have twisted him so. Or mayhaps it was fate he cursed and not the gods at all. It hardly mattered the cause when the woman he wanted was wed to his brother.

Smokingly, brilliantly hot. Maekar's frustration and subsequent denial of his feelings is a treat to read.

Summary
The Tourney at Ashford Meadow was meant to be a means of smoothing public relations for the Crown. In some ways, it was a success. In others, an utter, abject failure. For Jena - formerly of House Dondarrion, wife of Baelor Breakspear - it was a tragedy, ending in inconsolable loss.
No one expected things to go the way they did. Yet, as so many witnesses to history would attest, no one ever does.

Really enjoying this. This author's really captured Baelor's quiet gravitas (and hidden passionate side) really really well.

Draven is having a crisis and Mon is having (one assumes) a good time. Really, really good.
