The child notices this, because of course she does. “Oh, you some kinda criminal? What’cha do, man?”.
Loki glares at her, but sinks down further. He keeps quiet.
She hums low in her throat, scoffing down another chicken wing.
“Penny for your thoughts?” she says, setting down the empty to-go box.
Loki scoffs. “Young human, my thoughts are worth lives, not a worthless penny”.

Summary
Everyone and their mother knows that suppressants aren’t foolproof. They’re not a one size fits all like the pharmaceutical companies tout them to be. Some meds are better for omegas than others, but price and availability limits their usage. It’s a whole thing that Robert has learned to live with.
So, when one of the members of Z-Team is going into a rut because of a mysterious drug, the suppressants aren't as effective as they should be. Robert decides to hole up for a day in hopes he’s only going into pre-heat and not a full blown heat.
What he gets is help from an alpha that he never expected.

Wade looked across the room at Logan. He was sitting on the couch they’d spent an entire weekend picking out together, Mary Puppins in his lap, Laura perched on the arm to his right, and NTW to his left, flashing his crinkly-eyed smile at whatever Laura was saying. He looked happy.
Wade’s heart did that flutter thing again.
He's so pretty.If we only accomplish one more thing for the rest of our long existence, I hope it's that we make him happy. He deserves to be happy.
Only fair to return the favor.
Out loud he simply shrugged and replied honestly.

He doesn't expect all of this to change when he discovers a super-powered teenage boy in the basement of a HYDRA camp in rural Poland, but it could be a lot worse.
Things get complicated when Tony starts to care about the kid more than he ever intended to.
