    “I wasn’t sure if you wanted to, if you wanted me to follow, but–” Kate says, her words tumbling out fast and unsure.

    Lucy puts a stop to those words by stepping forward and reaching up to touch Kate’s cheek. “I wanted you to,” she breathes out, very conscious of how close her body is to Kate’s, how she can feel the heat emanating from Kate on her own skin. Then she very deliberately reaches her free hand behind Kate and slowly clicks the lock into place.
