Summary
There are a lot of traditions relating to this time of year (I write, on the 21st December), when the nights are at their longest. These are to be found both across the timespan of human existence and all around the world. There’s the Winter Solstice (obviously) but also Brumalia, Saturnalia (17th-24th December), Yalda Night, Yule and the Dongzhi Festival, to name a small selection. I assume Preservation culture would have similar traditions.
I reckon that at least somewhere in The Murderbot Universe (probably the CR) there is the HallmarkSeasonalMovie™

Summary
Most people have the decency to hide it, to disguise it at the very least. There was no reason for an augmented human to be parading around with an exposed data port, least of all this particularly annoying augmented human.

Summary
Without a cubicle to reset its endocrine system, Murderbot goes into heat. Gurathin would normally be the last person it would turn to for the kind of help it now needs, but he smells so good.
With him, at least I wasn't at risk of anything emotionally complicated.
